Steelers tweet ‘it was a bad day’ after RG3’s knee injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers tweeted Friday morning that the team was “extremely disappointed” by a report that RG3 suffered a torn ACL and MCL in Thursday night’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

“We have been extremely disappointed by the reports,” the Steelers tweeted.

“We have not been told of the exact injury, but we are disappointed to hear this.”

The Steelers have won nine straight games against the Chiefs and the injury could spell the end of their season.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he believed he was in “good spirits” after the game.

“I think he was going to be OK,” Tomlin told reporters on Friday.

“I know he had a lot of pain and pain and that’s going to go away.

I don’t think it will ever be the same.

But I think he’s going in good spirits and we’ll see what happens.”

So, that’s not a surprise, but I thought it was a good day.

“Tomlin also said the Steelers’ defense will play a “strong” game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

The Steelers, who are 1-1 on the season, beat the Patriots 41-27 last Sunday.

Tomlin said Thursday that RG4 was “going to be out for a couple weeks” because of the torn ACL, MCL and sprained ankle.

RG3 also suffered a sprained left knee during the Steelers victory.
